5. Learning to Learn Portfolio Model was developed by Ian Fox, the Principal at Bucklands Beach Intermediate School, Auckland, New Zealand. This model provides a wonderful framework for thinking about portfolios in schools: Metacognitive Development, Assessment to Improve Learning, and Development of Home-School Links. His online paper, Learning to Learn in the 21st Century, provides further explanation of this model and how it is implemented in his school.

6. Stefanakis-Barrett Model of Differentiating Portfolio Purposes.
   My colleague, Evangeline Harris Stefanakis, developed a model of Assessment for Learning, placing portfolios on a continuum between Learning and Accountability. We added my table that differentiates Portfolios used for Learning (Assessment FOR Learning) with Portfolios used for Accountability (Assessment OF Learning). (see my White Paper and upcoming paper to be published in IRA's Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy).

10. My 5x5 Model of Electronic Portfolio Development
    If you choose to use "common tools" for developing electronic portfolios, here is a look at the tools based on my 5-stage model of ePortfolio divelopment, at five levels of portfolio development (based on level of difficulty). This chart is based on an article that I published in 2000: Create Your Own Electronic Portfolio (using off-the-shelf software) (April, 2000, issue of Learning and Leading with Technology)
    

Dr. Barrett created the diagram below to represent the concept that the new generation of ePortfolios as a "mash-up"
(a Web 2.0 term) that means a lot of "small pieces, loosely joined" by hyperlinks.

Jeremy Hiebert developed the following two diagrams that put the different e-portfolio processes and tools within a context of self-directed learning and personal learning environment (PLE).
